Congratulations to Mr. Goold and Select Choir on being recipients of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award. Mr. Goold and Select Choir were nominated by Kelly Paganelli. Paganelli's nomination read the following: "I am nominating Mr. Goold and the Select Choir on behalf of the HFL Alumni Hall of Fame Committee for the Cougar Pride Award. Every year, Mr. Goold and this amazing group perform for our Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and elicit a multitude of feelings from the audience. The reaction ranges from Pride (thus why it's so fitting they get this award), Joy, Deep Appreciation, and Amazement. On top of all that, what makes this performance even more spectacular is that it happens very shortly after the start of the school year - they don't have that much time to prepare. Furthermore, each song is individually selected to match the characteristics of the Alumni receiving this distinction. Without fail, the songs bring the awardees and the audience to tears. At the conclusion of this event, everyone marvels at what they've just witnessed. As such, it's with a full heart and much appreciation that our Committee submits this application for consideration." #WeAreHFL
